The Rise of High-Precision Large Diameter Tubes
Historically, large diameter pipes were used mostly for low-pressure transport. However, modern chemical processing requires tubes that can withstand extremely high pressures (HP) and high temperatures (HT). This has led to the development of enhanced 321 and 347 grades, which use titanium and niobium stabilization to prevent intergranular corrosion after welding. Our factory in Wuxi has specialized in these grades, providing components for the aerospace and nuclear power industries.
Automation in Welding and Quality Control
To ensure "Zero-Defect" manufacturing, OES Metal has integrated AI-enhanced laser welding systems. Unlike traditional TIG welding, our automated systems provide a much deeper penetration with a narrower heat-affected zone (HAZ). This maintains the structural integrity of the stainless steel, particularly in large-diameter applications where the weld seam is the most vulnerable point. Following welding, our pipes undergo ultrasonic testing (UT) and X-ray inspection to guarantee that every inch meets the specified safety factors.

In North America, the focus is on the renovation of aging water infrastructure and the expansion of natural gas processing. In Southeast Asia, the rapid industrialization of Vietnam and Indonesia has created a massive need for 304 and 316L structural tubing. Meanwhile, the Middle East remains the largest consumer of high-alloy duplex stainless steel (like 2205 and 2507) for desalination and oil extraction.
