With an active workforce of more than 100 dedicated technical employees and engineers, OES Metal runs state-of-the-art platform processing equipment daily. This ensures precise tolerances for high-demand custom projects, packaging systems designed for global transport, and secure logistical dispatch to domestic and international clients.
Oes Steel has exported thousands of tons of high-quality steel to demanding industrial sectors across North America, South America, the Gulf countries, Africa, the CIS, and Southeast Asia. Our dynamic export systems cover more than 50 countries and regions. By controlling chemical formulations, heat treatment consistency, and geometric tolerances, OES Metal offers unparalleled quality control, technology, packaging, and delivery.
From raw melt sourcing to final surface polishing, our processes conform to strict ASTM, ASME, EN, JIS, and GOST standards. Our proximity to the Port of Shanghai ensures rapid, cost-effective containerized and bulk ocean logistics.
Grade 304 stainless steel (UNS S30400, EN 1.4301) is the global benchmark for corrosion-resistant structural components. As macro-industrial markets shift toward localized energy security, complex petrochemical pipelines, hydrogen storage units, and next-generation automotive design, the requirements for stainless coil quality have become increasingly demanding. No longer just a structural commodity, the steel coil acts as an engineered material that must resist mechanical stress, fatigue, temperature fluctuations, and highly corrosive media.
In North America and Europe, strict regulatory codes demand materials that promote sustainability, offer long life cycles, and require minimal maintenance. High-quality 304 stainless steel coils manufactured in China are highly competitive in these markets. Our advanced metallurgical mills utilize refined rolling systems that optimize the mechanical properties of chromium-nickel alloys, ensuring they meet or exceed international standards.
"By implementing advanced ladle metallurgy refining, vacuum oxygen decarburization (VOD), and argon oxygen decarburization (AOD), OES Metal maintains tight control over residual elements. This process produces clean steel with minimal non-metallic inclusions, maximizing formability and welding performance."
To ensure reliability in harsh environments, grade 304 stainless steel must conform to specific chemical compositions. This balance of elements directly controls the corrosion resistance, grain structure, and mechanical properties of the final product.
| Standard Specification | C (%) | Mn (%) | P (%) | S (%) | Si (%) | Cr (%) | Ni (%) | N (%) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| ASTM A240 / A240M | ≤ 0.08 | ≤ 2.00 | ≤ 0.045 | ≤ 0.030 | ≤ 0.75 | 18.0 - 20.0 | 8.0 - 10.5 | ≤ 0.10 |

Under ASTM A240 guidelines, 304 coils must also display robust mechanical properties, making them suitable for structural components and pressure vessels alike:
The manufacturing route chosen for 304 coils is determined by the final application requirements. Hot-rolled 304 stainless steel coils (typically designated as No.1 or 1D finishes) are produced at temperatures exceeding the recrystallization threshold. These coils are typically thicker (starting from 3.0mm up to 16.0mm) and are ideal for structural components, industrial machinery, and petrochemical vessels where mechanical strength is critical and surface aesthetics are secondary.
Conversely, cold-rolled 304 stainless steel coils (featuring 2B, BA, No.4, or Hairline finishes) undergo reduction at room temperature. This process yields tight dimensional tolerances, high surface reflectivity, and refined grain structure. Cold-rolled coils are widely used in commercial food service equipment, electronic enclosures, medical apparatus, and architectural cladding.
Navigating international metal trade requires adhering to specific local quality frameworks. For our commercial clients in the CIS region, we ensure our 304 coils (frequently matched to the regional equivalent grade 08X18H10 under GOST 5632 standards) comply with all local mechanical testing criteria.
For European and North American buyers, our operations align with EN 10088-2, ASTM A240, and ASME Section VIII Division 1 (for pressure vessel design). Our quality management system has been certified under ISO 9001:2015, and our pressure-retaining materials comply with the European Union's Pressure Equipment Directive (PED 2014/68/EU).

Explore moreAs modern engineering enters the era of decarbonization, OES Metal is proactively adapting our processing methods to reduce environmental impact. By upgrading our rolling mills in Wuxi to high-efficiency electric arc furnaces (EAF) powered by renewable energy sources, we aim to decrease the carbon intensity of our stainless steel coils. Additionally, we are actively researching hydrogen-based reduction processes to replace traditional carbon-heavy coke, bringing us closer to zero-carbon steel manufacturing.
Furthermore, our engineering teams are developing ultra-thin precision slitting techniques to meet the growing demand for lightweight components. In fields like hydrogen fuel cell bipolar plates and aerospace heat exchangers, reducing coil thickness while maintaining thickness uniformity is essential. We are now able to supply 304 and 316L precision strips down to a thickness of 0.05 mm, with a tolerance of ±1μm.
